WHY BAND CAMP?

Participating in summer band camps is an amazing way to keep your student engaged in music-making over the summer. In addition to gaining new experiences, students are exposed to new music and instruction, make new friends, and improve their own musicianship. They return to their home programs in a great position to start the new year, and many end up making the All County and All State Bands!

OSBC HISTORY

This camp was founded in 2017 by Mr. Steadman, Ms. Whaley, and Ms. Leffard with the goal of providing a high-quality, affordable local band camp. After a brief pause in 2020 and 2021, the camp returned and is now entering its seventh year! Organized by Okaloosa County band directors and supported by local high school mentors, this camp offers students a fantastic opportunity to stay engaged in music over the summer. Participants gain valuable experiences, explore new music and instruction, build friendships, and enhance their musicianship.
